A Family Escape That Became Something More

LayLow Properties started with a simple idea: what if a vacation rental actually felt like a home? Not a generic rental with mismatched furniture and a laminated house rules sheet — but a place where you could truly exhale, gather your people, and make the kind of memories that stick.

We found our first property on Oak Island, North Carolina — a second-row beach house with waterway views, a tiki bar, and enough room for the whole crew. We renovated it from the ground up with the guest experience at the center of every decision. The hot tub, the putting green, the fully stocked kitchen — none of it was an afterthought.

Guests started coming back year after year. They brought their dogs, their parents, their kids. They told their friends. And we knew we were onto something worth building.

Now we are expanding to the Blue Ridge Mountains with a Beech Mountain property opening in 2026 — because the best escapes deserve both the beach and the mountains.
